Blue Miburo

Blue Miburo dives into a thrilling story set in an alternate historical Japan, where the legendary Shinsengumi—the famous group of samurai known for their strict code and unmatched swordsmanship—takes on a mysterious twist. The anime follows protagonist Ryunosuke, a young recruit with a troubled past who joins the Shinsengumi to find purpose and redemption. However, he soon discovers that the group has a secret mission involving the defense against supernatural threats that lurk in the shadows of the nation. Each member of the Shinsengumi possesses unique mystical powers and skills, giving rise to the name “Blue Miburo,” representing their blend of tradition and otherworldly abilities. As Ryunosuke faces brutal battles and uncovers hidden agendas within and outside the Shinsengumi, he forms bonds with his comrades and struggles with questions of loyalty, justice, and his place in the world. With rich action sequences, a darkly immersive atmosphere, and themes of honor and sacrifice, Blue Miburo delivers a gripping blend of historical drama and supernatural intrigue. The Blue Wolves of Mibu is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsuyoshi Yasuda. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine since October 2021; its first part finished in April 2024 and the second part, Shinsengumi Arc, started in the same month.
